Bio

Sydney-born entertainer Paul Ison has been an essential ingredient in the recent evolution of Australian dance culture over the past decade. Such is his dedication to dance music, 32-year-old Ison has held residencies over thirteen years in both Victoria and Queensland at famed locations such as The Met, Frankston Saloon, Exchange Hotel, 21st Century Nightclub and Jooce nightspot (to name a few).

Blending his popular concoction of big room, electro and club anthems in the DJ booth, Ison has supported and played alongside established stars such as TV Rock, John Course, Sgt. Slick, Grant Smilie, The Stafford Brothers, Hook N Sling, Freemasons, Nick Galea, TyDi, Hoxton Whores, Ajax and the list is only going to continue growing! By the end of 2009, Ison will have added global superstars such as BT, Inpetto, Judge Jules and Marco V to his resume after they each toured Australia for club gigs and the inaugural Trance Energy Australia festival (the latter) – where Ison’s performed.

Perhaps what is most astonishing about these triumphant achievements is that Ison, at the moment anyways, merely moonlights as a DJ. In a nine-to-five capacity, Ison holds the prestigious title of Entertainment and Marketing Manager at one of Brisbane’s trendiest nightlife venues in the renowned Regatta Hotel. An experienced business professional, Ison earned his apprenticeship in this field by working in the promotions field at Buzz Bar Nightclub, Kings Creek Hotel and Millennium Nightclub in Melbourne.

In his current position, he’s in control of many exciting activities, with perhaps the most notable being university students undisputed favourite evening, that being Frat Club at Regatta. In addition, as a corporate suit, he’s the creator of Deckheads, the popular nightly entertainment brand which specialises in everything that has anything remotely to do with club land. Indeed, Paul Ison isn’t just a DJ, neither a Marketing Manager nor a business group creator. He’s all of the above and as many over the years have learnt, plenty, plenty more.
